The PCST Network’s Scientific Committee manages the affairs of the network. It comprises several subcommittees and working groups and is led by an Executive Committee that includes the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
As a member of the Scientific Committee, you will have the opportunity to shape and contribute the direction and activities of the PCST Network. The Scientific Committee is a working committee and the expected workload, while varying, is about 10-15 hours a month.
All members of the Scientific Committee commit to the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Attend and contribute to Scientific Committee meetings (4 to 6 meetings a year)
- Participate actively in at least one subcommittee and/or working group
- Take an active role in performing tasks that support the association (e.g. contribute to managing social media, organising webinars and other events, drafting PCST Network policies, etc.)
- Act as referees for proposals for conference presentations
- Support and promote the association
In addition, Scientific Committee members can nominate themselves to take on one of the Executive Committee roles and/or become Chair of one or more of the subcommittees and working groups. These roles involve additional responsibilities and time commitments.
The PCST Network is a welcoming and supportive environment and one that we all benefit from. The role of the scientific committee is to ensure the PCST Network continues to thrive.
