Frans van Dam has worked as a science communication practitioner and lecturer at various universities in the Netherlands. He is currently a lecturer in science communication at Utrecht University, where he teaches strategy, skills, theory and practice. In 2014, he co-edited a student book on science communication in Dutch. In 2020, an international team of authors transformed this book into an updated international textbook, ‘Science Communication – an Introduction’, published in the World Scientific Publishers book series on science communication supported by the PCST. Frans was a member of the core team of the local organising committee for the PCST 2023 conference in Rotterdam. He is also interested in new approaches to teaching and learning, such as active teaching and collaborative learning.
