I am a scientist turned science communicator. Incoming Head of Communications and Engagement at the European Spallation Source (ESS), after being Head of Education, Communications and Outreach at CERN and leading communications teams at research organisations in Portugal and in the UK. I have planned and developed public engagement in science projects for different audiences, across multiple channels and media, working with local and global partners.

I have a PhD in Developmental Neurobiology from the University of London, and an MSc in Science Communication from the Open University (UK).

Passionate about empowering people to share in the wonders of science, the process of research and its transformative power, I take an evidence-driven and human-centred approach to science communication.
