I’m a scientific journalist, who graduated in Biology with a MSc and PhD in History, at Sao Paulo University in Brazil. I’ve worked as a researcher at the Laboratory of Advanced Studies in Journalism (Labjor) at Unicamp, where I coordinate a graduate course in scientific journalism. I coordinate a podcast, Ecoa Maloca, that promotes dialogue between indigenous and scientific cultures with indigenous students. I was a visiting scholar at Simon Fraser University in Canada, an experience that has built partnerships with science communicators and established an international project in which we are dealing with the value of openness, inclusion, communication and engagement for science in a post-pandemic world. I am a member of the Brazilian Association of Science Writers (ABEC) Board and have cofunded the Latin American Association of Science Writers (ALAEC). My interests are science communication, scholarly publishing, altmetrics, open science and access, social media and EDI.
