Lars Guenther (PhD, 2015, at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Germany) is Senior Research Associate in the Cluster of Excellence on “Climate, Climatic Change, and Society” (CLICCS) at University of Hamburg in Germany, and Extraordinary Associate Professor at the Centre for Research on Evaluation, Science and Technology (CREST) at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. Lars has been an active member of PCST for several years; in his research, he often has an international, comparative perspective, as he worked at institutions in Germany, South Africa, and Israel. He has received several research grands and prizes, he is teaching courses on science journalism/communication, and he is member of the editorial board of two journals in the field of science communication. Professionally, he is interested into public perceptions of (controversial) science, science and health journalism, (public) trust in science, as well as the public communication about risks and scientific (un)certainty.
