Nan Li (PhD) is an assistant professor in the Department of Life Sciences Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. Li’s research examines the evolving nature of media discourse and public opinion regarding contested issues at the nexus of food, energy, and climate. She also identifies multimodal strategies for effective public-facing communication and decision-making in such contexts. Li has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles and received research support from the United States Department of Agriculture and other governmental institutions. Li was an assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural Education and Communications at Texas Tech University and a Joan Bossert Postdoctoral Fellow in the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania. She received her postgraduate degrees from UW-Madison and her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Fudan University, China.
