Sharon Tshipa is a researcher, development practitioner, science journalist, and fiction writer based in Gaborone, Botswana. She holds an MSc in Sustainable Development from the University College Dublin, an MA in Development Practice, and a BA in Media Studies, from the University of Botswana. As a scholar, her research interest are in development communication, climate change and health, artificial intelligence for development, and loss and damage. She has presented her work at both local and international academic research forums. As a development practitioner, Tshipa is the co-founder and Chairperson of Botswana Society for Human Development (BSHD). A non-profit whose vision is to significantly advance Botswana’s efforts to realise the four dimensions of sustainable development. Her media career has seen her contribute for various media outlets, inclusive of the BBC Future Planet, Thomson Reuters Foundation, Africa Is A Country, Greenpeace, Devex, Deutsche Welle Living Planet, Botswana Guardian, and Mmegi Newspaper.
