Bruce Lewenstein announced as first winner of the PCST Award

The results of the 2025 Award for the Advancement of Science Communication as a Professional Field (PCST Award) were announced during the closing session of the PCST Conference in Aberdeen.

This year’s award winner is Prof. Bruce Lewenstein (Cornell University, USA), recognised for his outstanding contributions to the development of science communication as a field. The runners-up are Susana Herrera-Lima (Mexico) and Toss Gascoigne (Australia), both acknowledged for their impactful work in the global science communication community.

The PCST Award is generously supported by the GIST Graduate School of AI Policy and Strategy. The winner receives a cash prize of USD 1,500, and each runner-up receives USD 700.

The next edition of the award will run in 2026–2027, with the winners to be announced at the PCST 2027 Conference in Shanghai.
