The results of the 2025 Award for the Advancement of Science Communication as a Professional Field (PCST Award) were announced during the closing session of the PCST Conference in Aberdeen.

The elections for the PCST Network Scientific Committee are now open! If you are a current PCST member, please cast your votes by 28 May 2025, 12:00 UTC (5pm UK time).

The PCST award jury is delighted to announce the shortlist for the Award for the advancement of science communication as a professional field (PCST Award).

We invite financial members of the PCST to self-nominate for election to the Scientific Committee. To self-nominate, log in to the members area and complete the self-nomination form by 22 April 2025.

The PCST Network has established the PCST Award to recognise the advancement of science communication as a professional field. Entries are open until 3 March 2025 for PCST members.

It is with pleasure that we share the Concluding Statement from the PCST Venice Symposium, held from 28-30 September 2023. The Statement is the result of the inputs which emerged from the Symposium working groups and discussions. Please share this document widely, especially with the governance of universities and research institutions.

Dr Sook-kyoung Cho was elected unopposed as PCST President at the first meeting of the new PCST Scientific Committee in May 2023. Mohamed Elsonbaty Ramadan was elected vice-president, Fabien Medvecky as secretary and Alexandra (Sacha) Borissova as treasurer.

The PCST Network is pleased to announce that we will be supporting the attendance of people from lower-income countries at the PCST Conference in Rotterdam in April next year. We are grateful to the Kavli Foundation for their generous donation to make this programme possible.

PCST Network has signed a partnership agreement with the International Year of Science Engagement (IYSE), which aims to proclaim 2027 as an official United Nations International Year and to put Science Engagement on the global agenda.

PCST joins scientific societies, universities, media organisations and other cultural associations around the world in denouncing the Putin-led invasion of Ukraine.

Better services mean higher costs, and the last meeting of the Scientific Committee decided to increase the cost of membership fees for those from wealthier countries. This is the first increase in seven years.

The new Scientific Committee unanimously elects first female president of PCST.
